Our guild is a member of TAQG. As a participating member, our guild is able to attend this year's "Rally Day" on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Mimosa Lane Baptist Church, located at 1233 Belt Line Road in Mesquite. The speaker will be J. Michelle Watts. She will also offer a workshop the day before, July 11th. Maps will be available at the June 25 meeting.

Lastly, our Quilt Show raffle quilt will be on display that day. Some one will be needed to sit with the quilt and sell tickets. If you are available for that job, please let Jane Ratliff know. If several people volunteer then it won’t be so much for one person to do.

As usual, Rally Day will be lots of fun. Free goody bags will be available, the Mini Quilt Auction, an interesting speaker, fun and fellowship with fellow quilters from across Texas, raffles and LOTS of door prizes. Hope to see you there.

Each member guild (that’s us!) is asked to donate 2 mini quilts measuring no larger than 24 by 24 for the Mini Quilt Auction on Rally Day. These have to be turned in at the TAQG meeting on May 27. The quilt maker needs to make sure their name is either on the back of the quilt or on a pinned on label. TAQG will be writing tax receipts and thank you notes for all quilts so they need the makers address as well. We also need to make goodies for the goodie bags. It was decided at the Board meeting to make charm square sets. I am asking each member to make 8 to 10 sets. A set consists of 4 pieces of fabric cut in a 6 inch square. This is a good way to get rid of some of your scraps. Please pin sets together and turn into the box that will be provided at the sign in table at our Guild meeting. I will collect at the March and April meeting. I have to turn them in to TAQG in May. Also Marty has asked that we save the empty coffee drink cans (International Coffee) and Altoid tins to use for another project.

You can bring these to the meeting as well.
